CYA’s Data Integrity Service, available for EMC Documentum and IBM FileNet P8, identifies and rectifies the broken relationships (corruption) that typically exist in ECM repositories between content and its associated metadata (audit trails, digital signatures, workflows, etc.). These corruptions can be caused by any number of logical errors including user, administrative, or programmatic errors, malfeasance, viruses, incorrect configurations of customized objects, and application failures. CYA estimates that it finds corruption within 80 percent of the systems it works with during product deployments.
This service includes:
- Identification of ECM system corruption with CYA’s Data Integrity Module, which scans the repository and produces a report documenting all inconsistencies.
- In-depth analysis of corruptions by CYA ECM experts with extensive knowledge of the ECM system’s underlying metadata schema.
- Development and execution of a plan for effective corruption remediation.
Why the Data Integrity Service?
- Corruptions can put your organization in non-compliance with regulations requiring the preservation of information in its original state, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC 17a-4, and FDA CFR Part 11.
- If you’re ever involved in a lawsuit and are unable to produce documents and their associated audit trails in their original state as required by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure eDiscovery Amendment, you risk stiff fines and negative brand exposure.
- If users try to access information that has been corrupted, your company can suffer
lost productivity and the loss of potential revenue.
If you’re planning to undergo an ECM system migration, it’s important to correct any corruptions prior to the migration because if they are left uncorrected, they can halt migration scripts, causing delays and lost productivity.
